1. Decide on your RV Lifestyle. How long do you plan on staying in your RV at a time? (Full Time, Part Time, Weekends) Plan on boondocking or hooking up at an RV park? How many people will be in your RV (any Pets/Kids)? Will you need a bed/bunk beds vs table/couch. Office space? Towing?

2. Calculate your RV Budget. Buying an RV is just the first cost of entry to RVing. Of course there will be taxes, fees, etc.. Plus, your RV Insurance. Then you need to add RV expenses: Fuel (gas/diesel/propane), RV Park Costs (or however you plan to get water/sewer/electric) & any other personal $: Meals & Entertainment, Health Ins, Pets, Kids, (whatever “normal necessities” you'd be paying for today RV or not).

3. Do your Research. This is the most important step of all. Don’t rely on the RV dealerships or the one selling it to you to teach you anything (they are trying to sell it TO YOU). There's no perfect RV everyone has their own idea of comfort which is what you should aim for. You need to learn as much as you can before buying an RV, but have a list of wants & needs. Know more about the RV you're buying than the one selling it to you.

I’ve bought 3 RVs in the past 5 yrs (Travel Trailer, Van, Class A Motorhome). The CHEAPEST one was the MOST EXPENSIVE MISTAKE! I wasted a lot of time, money & the first 3 yrs of my RV life were miserable! The worst mistake you can make is buying the wrong RV for YOUR lifestyle & budget. It took me 4 yrs to find the perfect "fit" for mine 😉

1. Calculate RV Cost & Insurance. RV’s are financed like a house. The payment terms are amortized 10, 20, 30 yrs depending on the value of the RV to the bank. My Travel Trailer cost $200/m. My Mercedes Class B Sprinter #VanLife cost me around $860/m & my Class A #motorhome cost $1022/m. Insurance $75-$100/m on all of these types of RVs. I’ve never paid over $100/m (part time or full time).

2. Estimate RV Operating Expenses. In order to use the RV you need things like: Fuel (Gas/Diesel/Propane), Water/Electric/Sewer & Cable/Wifi/Phone. You need fuel to move an RV. My Gas Motorhome costs me $200+/- to fill up (that will get me about 600 miles). Don’t use propane when I’m plugged up, but if traveling and need it (heat/cook/hot water) I’d pay est $60 to fill up. W/E/S cost $500/m ($16 a day) since I’m plugged up right now. If I’m #traveling I’d pay $10-15 to get water/dump sewer at a truck stop or maybe plug up at an RV park overnight approx $30+. I use my RV antenna for free basic TV. Wifi & Phone cost $100/m

3. Prepare for Service/Maintenance & Other Expenses. Things come up, but you can do a lot to prevent major issues i.e. change A/C filters, oil changes, etc.. I’d plan to pay anywhere from $12 to $200+/- depending on the item or service needed. For emergencies I have roadside assistance, which I pay less than $25/m for in case of a breakdown, flat tire etc... Then, you have to factor in any other expenses like meals & entertainment (your own personal costs).

Deciding on a budget for RV life is just one of the steps needed before getting started RVing. Without the proper planning you can expect #RVing to get Expensive!

I re-sell almost anything Online while on the road. (i.e. Baby Items, Novelty, Fitness, Home Goods and you wouldn't believe me if I told you what all I’ve made money selling)

This is also a great way to make money while downsizing your own possessions. Get organized, see what you don’t need, or haven’t used, sell everything you can live without. Check the clearance isles at department stores and don’t forget thrift stores can be hidden gems!

This is the perfect example of one of the ways you can go from making nothing $0 to generating $1000’s++ in extra income with just your phone!

My #neighbors at the #RVPark probably hate me when I turn my @metrovacworld #VacNBlo on. I think this thing can blow at 4 horsepower and it is LOUD! But, I #Love this it. I use it mostly to blow out the #RV but it is also a #Vacuum ⁠

This is a MUST in my #RVLife to get all the dirt out and any insects crawling around. I took this into my #shower to #Clean out the tracks and OMG now I'm #obsessed ⁠

Maybe that is #Gross to think about, but it is more disturbing that without this I would not know what was lurking in the nooks and crannies of not just the shower but the rest of my #Motorhome. ⁠

Next, I plan on taking this #outside to blow out all of my #Basement compartments. The only thing you need is an extension cord to be able to use it since the cord is about a foot long. ⁠
